suprisingly fun. Great multiplayer,
but graphics could use a
boost.
可惜我是男生.. 囧rz
遊戲有五十多道菜
照著畫面作就可以一道一道作出來
作出來以後會依照你花的時間跟正確度評分
也可以跟電腦或者兩個人比賽作菜
i rented it
Okay, so, what is Cooking Mama?
It's basically a cooking-game.
You get a book with different recipes from
different nations all over the world,
and then you cook the meal of your choice,
step by step, from the peeling of potatoes
to the cutting of meat.
And after each step you get rated based on how well you did.
You can also practice doing each meal,
before actually 'doing' it.
There's also a multiplayer-mode, with up to two people, where you're competing over doing the best possible meal.
And now over to a "Q & A"-session.
Is it entertaining?
Yeah, no doubt about it.
Are the controls good?
So so, sometimes it's really good, and sometimes
you're just sitting waving your hand wondering what to do.
Does it have a good lasting appeal?
I think not.
You get like thirty recipes, and that's it.
Sure, you can replay the recipes to get a better
score, or play with a friend, but still....no.
What about the graphics?
Nah. I guess it's fair for this kind of game, though.
Any other complaints?
The speaker, wich is supposed to be "Mama",
sounds retarded. The reason? They hired a Japanese woman to do the English voice-acting! Stupid!
You know how that sounds!
Oh, and sometimes there's crappy English-text in game.
2 stars.
A short (?) review from me, MeTRoD.
However, the controls are not always accurate, leading to you spending 1 minute to peel 2 potatoes, or burning a stew. The game can also become fairly repetitive after awhile. Maybe rent it first before you spend mega bucks on it.
Sure, it looks dumb, but it is actually really fun.
It's addicting, but once you unlock all the recipes, it gets boring.
it is an incredible Non-Gamery challenge. Let's Cook mode is the way to begin the Cooking Mama experience by yourself. The Wii Remote is an excellent kitchen utensil, with about 25 different moves to use. Friends and Food is the only mode I haven't played. That's the Multiplayer. Same kind of element to it. Each step to making the food is like a Mini-Game. That's what people aren't realizing. Friends and Food of the World is where the "Cook Off" element is. This one lets you compete, while playing by yourself. Though not to multiplayer friendly, Cooking Mama is sure to win at least a blue ribbon for her newest recepie.
Gameplay: 9.7 Depth: 10 Fun?:Yes Reccommendation 1-10: 9 Wii Remote Usage: 8.7
I think next time, they need to make more moves and recepies, and use your Mii!
Still like the game
Some of the graphics seem to be rendered at actual resolution - which means when they start bouncing and spinning they look pixelated, distorted, and generally pretty ugly. That would likely be forgivable if the interface were not so cluttered. The 3D environments are a nice treat over the handheld, but with so much going on all over the place a simple background would have sufficed.
The controller, too, is a little loose, leaving some errors unpreventable, to some degree.
It's a good game if you're looking for it, but it's a bit underwhelming for someone who's just dabbling. I would expect the next installment to be a lot more polished.
