I've only completed the prologue and some online play. I don't know in the long run how it will stand up, but it's similar to the GameCube game with better controls. Online seems to be exactly what you would expect if you've played the GameCube game.
If you're new to Battalion Wars, think of it as a loose third person shooter - you play as one character at a time out of many on your squad that you can control - mixed with the strategy of choosing which units to send where and when on the fly. Instead of counting kills or spawning, your platoon slowly diminishes to failure while you battle your way through enemy lines to complete objectives. Online, you assume various roles in a small number of varying game types.
The story and graphics and depth are all very deep, like other recent Nintendo published games, and it's clear that the first party Wii line-up is prepared to offer us gamers a lot of play time with each title. Battalion Wars 2 is no exception, as it seems the solo game is very long, and the online versus and co-op add a ton of replay value.
If only Excite Truck got this much love.
If you're into shooters, challenging action platformers, or tactic games, Battalion Wars 2 is a safe buy, it's unlikely you'll be disappointed unless you're more of the latter. But beware, the difficulty of the opponents will require skill and perseverance, as it is not a casual game.

That lack of voice chat really downed this game for me. Having friends from around the world and not being able to speak to them while destroying tanks together is no fun. The campaign isn't that bad although it seems like it's just there to get you ready for Online play.

Bought this game for multiplayer, would be fine if you could set the time for skirmish matches, but you can't.

I got Battalion Wars for Gamecube in 2005 and it was a great game and ws kind of like Advance Wars 3-D on Gamecube. I realy like the real time orders. The vehices are cool like the helicopter, jeep, tanks and battleships. The submarines is cool because you shake the Wii-moteto submerge and sneak past enemies. This game is fairly long and should last you, plus add in the natual difficulty and you get a good experience. The controls are a big jump from the analog stick frome Gamecube. Its now easier to run and gun and the controls remind me of Metroid Prime 3. Lastly online was a big no brainer this time around. Itfeatures three mode types Skirmish, Assault, and Cooperative. Assualt is good ecause its like online co-op where you do missions and work together. The only part this doesn't go well is because there is no real way to communicate in detail. this is a really good game if you enjoyed the first outing and is a big improvement. Dismissed!

this is a cool game and i didnt expect it to be that cool the gameplay is cool and looks great but is is also really easy, the fact that you can comand you own team is cool and not just that but you can also be whoever the hell you want to be, the wi-fi for this isnt that cool but its great that they added it for the extra fun
overall this is a buy

play the first game on gamecube first
coming off of the first game, the controls are harder to control. you get more artillary and military vehicles in this game at least. you might be dissappointed that you don't play as the western frontier for the whole game, well, don't be. different groups means different weapons. if you liked the first one, get this one too, but as stated before, careful with the controls.

This game is awesome. It's my favorite game on Wii now. The levels are a lot of fun and the vast variety of soldiers is great. The violent action is just great. My favorite unit is the Bazooka Vets!

I was throughly pleased with the game. The Wiimote controls were good, and the camera was very easy to control. I had no problem with the camera system at all. Battalion Wars is a very fun shooter. The fact that there is online play is an excellent bonus. I was extremely pleased with this very fun and entertaining game.

The wi-fi is a lot of fun and the silly war game is a lot of fun durring 1-player also.
The only thing it lacks is no multiplayer exept over wi-fi.

A game that almost no one knows about, Battalion wars was a franchise that started on the gamecube a 2 years ago, the first battalion wars was GREAT, and this one is even GREATer with the added online play.
Some things in the game needed work, but it didnt keep me from buying this Spectacular game.

I liked this game, a lot, but the one thing that bothered me was that you couldn't play with friends on the same Wii, but that didn't matter, it was still an awesome game, I recommend anyone who likes strategical war games to get Battalion wars two.

Looks good, and there is no lack of action... but I found the game had a tendency to "play itself" while I would offer some vague directions for troops and vehicles. After several play attempts, Battalion Wars never really caught my interest or made me crave one more game. Maybe just a case of expectations not matching the actual product, since I was really hoping for something closer to RTS-style gameplay.
