It's awesome. Tell your friends! And they can tell their friends. And so on. And so on. And so on.
great! lots of fun. tons of user created content.
Strange shooting game, cute at times, it can get crazy quickly with some super buzy screens...

The "Z" button on the numchuck should be more like a switch "ON" or "OFF" then a "PRESS" or "UNPRESS"

Blast Works is an intersting twist on a dying genre. When you destory enemies, you can attach them your ship in a method reminiscent of Katamari Damacy. Attached enemies wil use their weapons to attack as wel las provide aromr for your main ship.

In addition to the 15 levels of the main game, Blast Works's biggest feature is its inlcuded editor. No, not a level editor; and everything editor. You can create your own bullet patterns, playable characters, enemies, and full levels. The editor is easy to learn, while providing enough depth for serious creators to make some interesting creations.

All of your creations can be uploaded to Blastworksdepot.com, where other players can review and download your works.

fantastic. the single player is fun (although i suck at it) but the best part is the editor. ive spent hours working on one single ship. really fantastic. i really cant wait to see some serious effort from the community. a bit lax at the moment im afraid.

The editors are incredible and I love the physics...I'd go on but I don't have enough time.
Wow, great online set up for this game. I wish more games would be like this. 9.9/10

This game contains a campain mode, but it is pretty bad. There is no storyline, just levels other the creators made. The editing is more fun, but is still very basic.

Excellent editors, challenging campaign, and a core mechanic that doesn't become gimmicky. Not only that, but it includes 4 unlockable freeware games such as rRootage. Overall, it kicks the snot out of other shmups on the Wii.
So far so good. I still have a lot to do.
Thank Recommended
Even With Online System
This game is great for the building type. The game has a great building system, and a challenging single player mode.
This game would be a mild three (due to short game play) if it wasn't for the fact that it's build system is almost perfect and allows for nigh infinite levels.
Its like katamari gradius

I'm the kinda guy who likes games where your creativity comes into mind, and you are able to build and create anything your mind could imagine, so this game hit a home run with me, I think everyone should own blast works, and I have nothing bad to say about it!

Wrote a detailed review, but MiiPlaza choked when I went to submit it and the whole thing was lost.

:(

Short version is this:  I didn't think Blast Works would be that great, but it has surpassed all my expectations. Technically, the game's music and graphics aren't the best... but I can forgive that because of the excellent gameplay, many cool unlockables, and full-featured editor. This game is an absolute steal, even for just the arcade/campaign modes and Kenta Cho unlockable games. If you have ANY interest in creating your own content, then go buy it now.  Don't miss this hidden gem!

Blast works is probably one of the most unique 2d-shoot-em-ups to ever exist. The one thing that makes this game stand out is the editor. I found it confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, this game will provide infinite replay value. If you don't really feel like making your own things, there's always the option to download other people's creations, which is useful if you need a certain object that you don't want to make.

This is an amazing game that has unlimited replay value and i've had it for a month and a bit now and I have played it everyday since i got it. The editor is amazing. There is no excuse for anyone to not get this game. People say that this should have been for wii ware. B.S. this game should be a 50$ game but its 40$ so its a steal. The only thing that could make this game better is if it had a longer campaign but the editor makes up for it from people making levels and you downloading them. AMAZING GAME BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woot!  I love games with great and detailed Editors.  The gameplay may be a little repetitive, but with the abillity to create what ever you want, it will not get boring.

A somewhat unique game, players pilot their aircraft through levels, shooting down enemy ships, and collecting them for added defense/firepower. Outside of that the experience is rather empty and limited. This would normally send a title straight to dollar bins, though the available DLC from the user supported community adds more value to the Wii title. It even supplies the tools to make killer ships, levels, attacks, and just about everything to make the enjoyment of the title near endless. The only drawback would be having to build the items, so if you just want to play rather than spend time creating, it may not be worth it.

This is a pretty good game. You can pretty much make ANYTHING in the editor, and the regular shooting mode is fun itself. I'd reccomend it, but it really depends if you are creative and patient enough to learn the editor well

I found this game at Best Buy for $9.99 and figured it looked neat enough so why not get it. I spent about 5-10 minutes on the actual game and became board with it. I then started playing with the game creator portion of it. I have not stopped since I started and that was about 4 days ago.

I think a lot of us start on the creation portion of the game with the same thought in mind. “I am going to create the best shooter game ever. No one else will be able to match me in shear creativity. Yet all we end up with is a bunch of lame sex related body parts dancing around. (I know you KNOW what I’m talking about.) Any ways regardless of the games many flaws as well as my own I have really enjoyed trying to create something epic.

Good:

Unlimited replay ability thank to user created content.

We get to be creative!

It’s kinda fun seeing how our artistic ability compares to others.

Bad:

Sounds are limited and limited music options.

The game its self does not show off what it can do, you have to rely on others for that. So if you do not have internet connectivity you are out of luck.

Overall it was worth the $9.99 but not any more than that.
