In the film adaptations he is played by Sir Anthony Hopkins, whose most famous portrayal, in the film "The Silence of the Lambs", is featured here.<br /> I know others have done versions of Hannibal featuring his famous restraint mask. While that may be the most iconic image of him, he only appears that way in one scene in the film, and I wanted to portray him as a recognizable Anthony Hopkins, the way he sticks in my mind: a dangerous figure staring out of the glass of his cell, wearing a chilling smirk as he pulls at the innermost threads of your psyche.
