Dream, also known as Morpheus, is the main character in the "Sandman" comic book series from DC/Vertigo, written by Neil Gaiman in the 80s and 90s.
Dream is one of the Endless: immortal beings who are manifestations of various elements of the universe, including Destiny, Delirium, Desire, Death, etc. He rules The Dreaming, the land where people dream. He has many forms depending on who is looking at him, but he appears most often as a gaunt man clad in black with bushy black hair and pale skin. His eyes are deep wells of night with star-like pupils.
