Apparently, this was designed for the GameCube, but converted for the Wii. But don't let theat scare you off. It's still a lot of fun. The combat system is now like the original Mario Brothers. No more taking turns! There are fun little characters you pick up along the way called 'pixls'. Each has a unique function needed to keep you going, solve puzzles, or fight particular monsters. And there are tons of different monsters! Each one even has its own in-game trading card. Other than allowing you to be OCD, owning a card of a specific monster multiplies your damage when you strike it. You can also collect recipe cards, and make about 100 dishes. Why? I'm not entirely sure. Some foods are helpful, but most dishes are complex, expensive and not worth the effort. Still, more OCD work. There are three optional areas, which I didn't bother with. Two of them only open up after you win the game. The rewards for defeating them? ...more cards. *groan* Okay, of you ignore the ridiculous collecting, and just play the game, it's a lot of fun. Decent variety of characters, items and puzzles, nice storyline, and Princess Peach finally gets married! ...but to who? :)
